贯叶连翘全草富含各种化学元素。全草含鞣质10%，酸解产生花白素；挥发油主成分为蒎烯、倍半萜烯；树脂〔中有抗菌成分称贯叶连翘树脂Ⅰ，Ⅱ（HyperesinⅠ及Ⅱ）〕；另含维生素C、胡萝卜素、芸香甙（叶含2%，花0.095%）、金丝桃甙、槲皮甙、槲皮素、咖啡酸、绿原酸、少量皂甙、β-谷甾醇。
